Statement regarding news of alleged impropriety by a leader of a local church with an identical name:

We are aware of recent news of criminal charges against a pastor of Second Pilgrim Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Despite the similarity in name and city, we have no affiliation past or present, with Second Pilgrim Baptist Church, its leadership, or its church body. The accused individual is not currently, nor ever has been affiliated with this church. 

We strongly condemn this alleged behavior. We encourage everyone to please pray for God's peace for all those impacted by these allegations.
